Pokemon Legends: Z-A includes an on-screen day-night cycle indicator that numerous players are only just beginning to discover after spending extensive hours with the game.

Without identifying them directly, I’ll proceed to reveal that one of my unnamed editors has engaged with this game for 45 hours without realizing there’s an on-screen timer displaying precisely when the game shifts from day to night, and vice versa. To be honest, I don’t feel too ashamed exposing this, as it appears this discreet yet remarkably helpful UI feature has evaded the notice of most individuals.

As illustrated in the post above, there exists a ring surrounding the in-game map icon that indicates the remaining time in a specific day-night cycle. During the night, the ring glows subtly red, while in the daytime, it shines blue.

This may not appear to be significant at first glance, but it truly is. The reason being, the shift into day and night disrupts your gameplay and can even cause Pokémon that you are currently battling and attempting to catch to despawn, thus knowing exactly when that will occur is essential to ensuring that the alpha you’re contending with doesn’t escape. It turns out, Game Freak was aware of this, but perhaps didn’t make it as evident to players as it ought to have been.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A might have revamped combat even more than I envisioned, with a whole array of strategies sacrificed on the real-time altar
