In addition to fresh Spotlight Hours and raid bosses, the game will present several autumn-inspired activities this month such as the Harvest Festival, which will unveil two new evolved stages of Applin.
Furthermore, there’s also Mega Rayquaza Raid Day to anticipate, alongside an event to commemorate the release of the Pokemon series’ latest installment, Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Naturally, October wouldn’t be complete without the yearly Halloween event, which will be divided into two segments this year and introduce a few new ghostly and costumed Pokemon for capture.

Pokemon Go’s weekly Spotlight Hour events persist in October with a fresh assortment of Pokemon and bonuses.
Each Tuesday evening from 6-7 PM local time, a specific species of Pokemon will be more prevalent in the wild. Moreover, you’ll collect an additional reward for participating in the event, such as double Stardust or XP when capturing Pokemon.

Steel Skyline
Pokemon Go is commencing October with the Steel Skyline event, which will continue until October 7.
As indicated by its title, steel-type and additional urban Pokemon such as Alolan Diglett, Galarian Meowth, Skarmory, Trubbish, and Klink will show up more commonly in the wild throughout the event. Mega Metagross is making its long-anticipated Pokemon Go debut as part of a Mega Raid Day event on October 4.
This Mega-Evolved Pokemon will appear in gyms as a Mega raid boss from 2-5 PM local time. Each Metagross you encounter will have the ghost-type Fast Attack Shadow Claw, and you’ll have a heightened probability of meeting a shiny one if you successfully complete the raid.
A couple of bonuses will also be active throughout the event. As is customary, the number of Remote Raid Passes you can possess will temporarily elevate to 20, allowing you to engage in more battles remotely. Additionally, you can gain up to five extra complimentary Raid Passes when you spin the Photo Disc at gyms.

Harvest Festival
Pokemon Go is commemorating the onset of autumn with a Harvest Festival event from October 10-16.
As part of the celebrations, two new Pokemon are debuting in the game: Dipplin and Hydrapple. You will also be able to gather a new kind of item: Syrupy Apples. These may show up at PokeStops that are fitted with an active Mossy Lure Module.
Other seasonal Pokemon like Miltank, Combee, and Smoliv will also appear more often during the event, and several bonuses will be active. You’ll earn double candy when capturing a Pokemon with Pinap or Silver Pinap Berries, and you’ll have augmented odds of finding shiny versions of Pumpkaboo and Smoliv.

October’s Community Day is scheduled for October 12, featuring the psychic-type Pokemon, Solosis.
Between 2-5 PM local time, you’ll encounter Solosis in the wild more often than usual, providing a great opportunity to catch some and gather Solosis candy. With the heightened spawn rate, your chances of finding a shiny Solosis will also improve.
As the spotlight Pokemon, Solosis can learn a special move exclusive to this event. If you manage to evolve one into Reuniclus by 9 PM local time, it will automatically acquire the fairy-type Fast Attack, Charm, upon evolution.
Additionally, there are some in-game perks associated with the event. You’ll gain triple Stardust and double candy for capturing Pokemon, while trainers at level 31 and above will have double the likelihood of receiving Candy XL. Furthermore, any Incense activated will remain effective for three hours, and Lure Modules will last one hour.

Pokemon Go is marking the debut of Pokemon Legends: Z-A with a unique crossover event from October 16-20.
During this event, Mega raids at gyms will occur more often, providing additional opportunities to complete your Pokedex and earn Mega Energy. Additionally, free Timed Research tasks will be available, rewarding you with various prizes, including chances to catch the three starting Pokemon from Z-A: Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile. The Style Shop will also introduce new outfits inspired by Z-A for your avatar.

Mega Raid Day
Mega Rayquaza is set to participate in a special Mega Raid Day event on October 18.
From 2-5 PM local time, Mega Rayquaza will show up in gyms as a Mega raid boss. Successfully defeating this raid will enhance your chances of finding a shiny Rayquaza afterward.
Additonally, free Timed Research tasks will be available during this occasion. These tasks will reward you with a Meteorite, which is essential for teaching Rayquaza the Charged Attack, Dragon Ascent.

Halloween 2025 Part I
Pokemon Go is concluding the month with its yearly Halloween celebration. Similar to previous years, the events will be divided into two segments, the first of which occurs from October 21-27.
Two new ghost-type Pokemon are making their entrance during the occasion: Poltchageist and its evolved counterpart, Sinistcha. Additionally, shiny Sinistea will be showcased for the first time in Pokemon Go.
Alongside the new Pokemon, numerous ghost and dark-type Pokemon such as Greavard, Zorua, and Hisuian Zorua will be more prevalent in the wild and in raid encounters. You will also have the opportunity to meet themed Pokemon while completing Field Research tasks during the event.

Pokemon Go is wrapping up the initial segment of this year’s Halloween event with a Go Battle Weekend on October 25-26.
Halloween 2025 Segment II
The second phase of Pokemon Go’s Halloween 2025 festivities will take place from October 27-November 2.
During this segment of the celebration, numerous Pokemon adorned in costumes will appear in the wild and as raid bosses. In addition to costumed Pokemon from earlier years, you will also have the chance to meet some new eerie Pokemon, such as Teddiursa in a witch hat and Noibat with a headband.
Furthermore, more event-themed Field Research tasks will be available. By completing these, you can earn varied rewards, including additional encounters with highlighted Pokemon and Mega Energy for Houndoom, Gengar, Sableye, and other creatures.
Several bonuses will also be accessible. Not only will your chances of encountering shiny costumed Pokemon through raids be heightened throughout the entire event, but also you can acquire extra candy on October 31. Costumed Pokemon captured with a Nice Throw or superior on Halloween may yield Rare Candy or Rare Candy XL.
