Spin Master’s newly launched 4D Construct Pokemon model kits are currently discounted for a short duration at Amazon. Each of the four Kanto region starter Pokemon from Generation 1 is now priced at $15. The 3D replicas of Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur were introduced in September with a price of $22 each. These are Amazon Lightning Deals with limited supply, so you need to act quickly to catch ’em all.
The 4D Construct collection features licensed models influenced by numerous prominent entertainment franchises, such as Star Wars, Marvel, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter. Some 4D Construct puzzles are made from cardstock, while the Pokemon models utilize high-quality EPS foam pieces that fit together like jigsaw puzzles. You don’t require scissors, glue, or anything besides your hands, the perforated foam sheets included in the box, and the instruction guide.
4D Construct: Pokemon Pikachu Model Kit
$15 (previously $22)
The Pikachu model features the Pokemon mascot’s thunder strike, complete with electricity arcs connected to the display stand. Pikachu is assembled from 201 pieces of EPS foam from the 16 provided punch-out sheets. As noted, no tools are required to build one of 4D Construct’s models; these are essentially 3D puzzles.
The Pikachu model measures 9.7 x 11.6 x 12.9 inches, making it a fairly substantial display piece for the cost.
4D Create: Pokemon Squirtle Model Kit
$15 (originally $22)
This charming Squirtle model exhibits Gen 1’s Water-type Starter riding a wave–after instructing the little fellow HM03 (Surf), naturally. The 16 foam sheets comprise 180 punch-out components. Once assembled, Squirtle measures 9.3 x 10.1 x 9.2 inches.
4D Create: Pokemon Charmander Model Kit
$15 (originally $22)
Charmander’s 4D Build is the most intricate of the four in the debut lineup. The model spans 9.8 x 9.3 x 10 inches and consists of 241 pieces from 16 foam sheets. The Fire-type Starter Pokemon’s base is appropriately adorned with flames.
If you’re interested in constructing other Pokemon models using diverse materials, numerous brands offer officially licensed Pokemon model and building kits. While Lego’s initial Pokemon sets won’t debut until the next year, Mega Bloks offers a vast assortment of buildable figures and playsets featuring popular Pokemon and items. For example, the 322-piece Pokedex building set is available for just $14.69. You’ll also come across small Bandai Hobby Pokemon model kits on Amazon, some priced under $10.
