PlatinumGames Discreetly Erases All Trace of Venture G.G. from Its Online Presence
PlatinumGames has entirely eliminated all references to its superhero venture, Venture G.G., from its website.
Whereas previously, 22 released and upcoming video games were showcased on that page, only nine remain, as most have been deleted, with even the project’s dedicated URL now redirecting to the main page.
Video games including Star Fox Zero, Babylon’s Fall, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, Transformers: Devastation, and The Legend of Korra have also been erased from Platinum’s “all works” page.
Former Platinum Games creator Hideki Kamiya revealed the project – codenamed Venture G.G. – back in June 2020. It was characterized by Kamiya as the third and final installment in his now-trilogy of superhero projects, following the Viewtiful Joe series and The Wonderful 101.
However, Kamiya exited the studio in 2023 and joined Clovers at the end of last year. There has been no information regarding the future of Venture G.G. since his departure.
“I observed this on ResetEra, and I can’t comprehend why they made this decision, but PlatinumGames erasing its history from its website is truly unfortunate,” remarked former PlatinumGames producer, JP Kellams (thanks, VGC).
“I wonder if they also removed the carpeting from the lobby. As someone who takes pride in having worked on those titles, I feel profoundly insulted by this situation.”
Spotted this on ResetEra, and I don’t understand why they did it, but @platinumgames erasing its past from its website is remarkably regrettable. I wonder if they removed the carpeting from the lobby as well. As someone happy to have worked on those video games, I genuinely feel deeply offended by this. pic.twitter.com/a1rmAMO0Tc

Last week’s Xbox Developer Direct commenced with the announcement of Ninja Gaiden 4, a new mainline installment in the iconic action game franchise being developed by Team Ninja.
