Phasmophobia creator Kinetic Games has disclosed a fresh map for the game, located within a deserted restaurant. The venue–Neil’s Diner–was introduced during a TwitchCon panel that commemorated the recent fifth anniversary of the co-op horror title, and gamers can delve into it starting November 11.
Kinetic Games characterized Neil’s Diner as a “decrepit, nostalgic restaurant” that has been long-forgotten by employees and patrons alike. Although this is among the more compact maps in Phasmophobia, it remains teeming with authentic details and specters eager for excitement.
“We always believed a diner would suit perfectly, so Nell’s came to life, and it has been an enjoyable challenge to bring it into existence,” lead developer Daniel Knight stated in a press release. “Along with the farmhouse revisions from this year, Nell’s exemplifies how we want all the maps in Phasmophobia to resonate moving forward. It’s distinctive, and has been carefully crafted to convey more of a narrative to our players–beyond the immediate spirit they’re pursuing.”
Phasmophobia is set to launch into version 1.0 next year, but this marks merely the beginning of Kinetic’s substantial ambitions for its successful game. An impending renovation–termed Horror 2.0–will debut alongside the 1.0 release, and the studio asserts that the update will make Phasmophobia feel akin to a new title. Hollywood is also reaching out, as production firm Blumhouse–known for Five Nights at Freddy’s, Paranormal Activity, The Purge, and Insidious–is adapting the game for the cinema.
