Marvel Studios’ much-awaited animated streaming adventure Marvel Zombies has snagged an accelerated release, rolling onto Disney Plus a full seven days ahead of schedule (via Collider) — a nudge that should curb some of the insatiable appetite fans have developed after countless genre-related delays.
October 3 was originally penciled in for the launch, squarely inside spooky-season. Instead, the series will bow on Disney Plus come September 27, with the remaining three chapters dropping every subsequent Saturday. That wraps the entire four-episode run a whole week before October 31, leaving ample time for a Halloween all-you-can-watch binge.
The undead mayhem first lurched into comics two decades ago in 2005, birthing a flood of follow-ups and offshoots, including an even grittier upcoming ‘Red Band’ edition slated to hit shelves with an R-rating.
First revealed in 2021, the TV-MA animated project is itself a direct spin-off, spun from one of the most watched and haunting episodes of What If…?, which depicted a reality where beloved Marvel icons transform into ravenous ghouls.
Robot Chicken alum and Amazing Spider-Man scribe Zeb Wells shares writing duties with What If…? showrunner Bryan Andrews. The vocal ensemble taps MCU regulars such as Awkwafina, David Harbour, Simu Liu, Elizabeth Olsen, Randall Park, Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfeld, Dominique Thorne, Iman Vellani, and Todd Williams.
