I detest the discussion around the yellow paint. Perhaps I’m just maturing, but colored directional indicators are among the various minute details of game creation that I simply can’t muster a fervent stance on. Certainly, if it becomes excessively conspicuous it can slightly disrupt immersion, but for me, it would have to be luminous rainbow tape to irritate me enough to partake in this never-ending argument.

The yellow indicators in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth rekindled this timeless debate last year, and now the game’s director is reigniting the controversy again. However, to be fair to Naoki Hamaguchi, we inquired.
