Nintendo’s Switch 2 Edition ports of OG Switch games cost £65 in UK
Stores have commenced listing Switch 2 versions of the original Switch’s games as preorders officially begin, with a typical price tag of £65.
Establishments such as Argos, John Lewis, and Smyths have The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – which I must remind you was initially released on the Wii U before making its way to Switch in 2017 – will be available in its enhanced Switch 2 version for £64.99.
Various Switch 2 versions of classic Switch games like Super Mario Party Jamboree, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land similarly feature this £65 pricing.
The only exception I have encountered so far is GAME, which lists its Switch 2 versions of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild, and others at £67.
Nintendo Switch 2 editions will be available for purchase both physically and digitally, but players who already possess the original Switch versions can opt for an upgrade pack to access the new Switch 2 extraordinary features.
Those who select a Switch 2 edition of Tears of the Kingdom will have access to Zelda Notes, a “new feature designed to enrich your adventures in Hyrule,” which aims “to provide a more streamlined gameplay experience”.
Nintendo’s enhanced Switch 2 edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land will also feature new content, including a remixed campaign titled Star-Crossed World.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch on Thursday, June 5th, with a price tag of £395.99 for the console, or £429.99 if you choose the Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle.
Additionally, our Tom has already gotten hands-on experience with Nintendo’s forthcoming console. You can read his Switch 2 impressions here.
