Chibi-Robo Makes a Comeback
Nintendo revealed today that Chibi-Robo will land on the Switch 2’s GameCube collection next Tuesday 21st August, 2025.
The pint-sized platformer was one of the initial titles revealed alongside the GameCube vault for the Switch Online service. First released in 2005/06 on the purple cube and crafted by studio Skip, the adventure now stages a second encore.
Haven’t met this four-inch hero yet? Here’s the official rundown of what awaits you:
Tiny automaton on a mission to spread smiles!
Chibi-Robo, a mere four-inch mechanical helper, has rolled into the Sanderson household with one goal: improve the family’s everyday life and find joy for them. Whether it’s scrubbing floors or tracking down misplaced trinkets, the robot’s on duty around the clock. Originally released for the Nintendo GameCube™ in 2006, this bite-sized action-adventure challenges you to climb the Chibi-Rankings by collecting Happy Points and Moolah (read: cash). Rumour has it that achieving the top spot turns Chibi-Robo into Super Chibi-Robo… but with a frog-speaking child and toys that spring to life the moment humans are gone, the little gadget has his circuits full in the mystery-drenched Sanderson house!
To fire up this quest on Switch 2 you’ll need an active Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.
Further GameCube classics heading to the service include Luigi’s Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. The incoming update succeeds July’s arrival of Super Mario Strikers.
