The upcoming complimentary patch for Disney Dreamlight Valley lands later this week, centering on Pixar’s Inside Out. Dubbed Emotional Rescue, the patch opens a realm modeled after Inside Out’s Headquarters and brings Joy and Sadness to the Valley, along with an array of fresh scenery and outfits.

Once Emotional Rescue goes live on August 20, you’ll step through a door in the Dream Castle into the Headquarters realm ripped right from the film. Finish story quests straight out of the movie, then drop a mini Headquarters in your Valley so Joy and Sadness can move in. Completing their friendship missions—calming the Valley’s mood swings with Joy or curing Sadness’s literal rainy blues—nets you heartfelt prizes.

Between September 1 and 16, the Memory Mania Mini-Event returns as you hunt down Riley’s phone whenever it pops up around the map, trading it in for Inside Out 2 décor. A Retro Roadtrip Star Path piles on the nostalgia with vintage looks, retro furnishings, and a kitschy drive-in theatre vibe that turn your Valley into a mid-century summer postcard.

The Premium Shop also gets new stock, welcoming Lucky from 101 Dalmatians, plus sparkling Dream Styles for Anna (Frozen) and Tiana (The Princess and the Frog).

On top of all the new fun, this patch layers in sweeping quality-of-life upgrades: a rebuilt Star Path with streamlined Roles, lighter Routine Duties, and the ability to bring two sidekicks on your excursions instead of one. Looking at you, giant animal roster fans—you can now task Pua to shadow Moana or park Heihei outside Maui’s home.

The exhaustive changelog of tweaks, balancing, and bug fixes is waiting in the official patch notes.
