Netflix Shifts Strategy: Six Upcoming Projects Canceled to Align with Viewer Preferences
Memoir of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game is among a handful of titles that will no longer be available on the streaming giant.
Netflix has decided to cancel six games as part of its strategy to “revise [its] portfolio” in line with “what our members prefer”.
What’s On Netflix referred to the adjustments as a “transition” as Netflix reshapes its approach to Netflix Games.
This means Compass Point: West, Thirsty Suitors, and Memoir of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game will now be excluded from the streaming service’s gaming collection.
Don’t Starve Together, Lab Rat, and Rotwood – all created by Klei Entertainment – will also no longer be coming to Netflix.
Several of these titles will still be released on alternative platforms, such as Steam or Nintendo Switch.
Annapurna Interactive recently appointed former Netflix Games executive Leanne Loombe.
