nDreams Launches New Studio While Closing Two Others: A Shift in Strategy for the Future
By New studio Compass will be spearheaded by industry veteran Callum Godfrey following the closure of nDreams Studio Orbital and nDreams Studio.
nDreams has unveiled a new studio called Compass while simultaneously closing two others.
In a statement to Game Developer, the company confirmed the shutdown of nDreams Studio Orbital and nDreams Studio as part of its restructuring plan unveiled last September. This plan has placed up to 17.5% of employees at risk of job loss.
“Both teams produced excellent work, and many individuals from those affected studios have been integrated into nDreams’ new structure, with several becoming part of the new Compass studio,” the VR firm expressed.
nDreams now comprises three studios: Compass, nDreams Studio Elevation, and Advance Light.
Compass will be overseen by industry professional Callum Godfrey, who previously held positions at Activision, Electronic Arts, and King. Godfrey joined nDreams in November 2023 as the head of third-party publishing.
The team at Compass consists of 40 employees with a wealth of experience.
