“Monster Hunter Wilds Unleashes Exciting New Stage with First Scream Update in April”
With Monster Hunter Wilds finally imminent within reach, you can almost detect the odor (sweat, wet feline, and a persistent scent of dung bomb, would be my assumption), Capcom has hinted at more content coming with its first post-launch expansion, now confirmed to debut in “early April”.
This isn’t the first instance Capcom has addressed Monster Hunter Wilds’ Title Update 1; earlier this month, it announced that everyone’s beloved bubble dragon, Mizutsune, will be the inaugural post-launch monster added to Wilds. However now, as the game’s release approaches, it has also suggested a “new level of challenge”, which will materialize as a creature of “significant power” surpassing the tougher Tempered variants found in the game.
The announcement further hinted at “another formidable monster,” though it remains uncertain whether this pertains to Mizutsune or introduces a third new beast. Either way, as I noted in my review earlier this week, Wilds’ offerings seem to lean slightly easy at present, particularly regarding the Tempered monsters, so it would be beneficial to introduce something a tad more demanding early in its lifecycle.
And there is more to discover. Capcom has also teased a “new gathering location” for hunters who have completed the main storyline, creating a space for friends to “convene, chat, dine together, and more”. And by more, I assume it includes arm wrestling. Currently, Wilds lacks a centralized gathering hub as seen in previous Monster Hunter titles, so this addition will certainly be a welcome social feature for players. Hopefully, we’ll also see some seasonal decorations to enjoy when the post-launch quests start rolling in.
However, prior to Title Update 1’s “early April” launch, Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive a 15GB day one update – though Capcom has yet to specify what it will entail. Ideally, it will address the technical issues.
