Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective
$46.49 (was $50) | Releases October 28
The complete title of the book is Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective: The Official Art and Creation of Metroid Prime 1-3.
This 212-page clothbound hardcover features a stitched binding and embellished metallic foil cover art depicting Samus Aran clad in the Varia Suit. Piggyback is utilizing premium, sheet-fed art paper to highlight the concept illustrations and sketches from the creation of the original Metroid Prime (2002), Prime 2: Echoes (2004), Prime 3: Corruption (2007), and Metroid Prime Remastered (2023).
In addition to the artwork, the book comprises insights from Retro Studios developers. The foreword is authored by Metroid Prime series producer Kensuke Tanabe, with each of the four segments being introduced by a developer from Retro Studios.

Additional Metroid Games

If you haven’t experienced Metroid Prime Remastered, we strongly suggest exploring it prior to Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. It’s among the finest games for Nintendo Switch and will function as an excellent introduction (sorry) for Beyond. For classic side-scrolling Metroid action, take a look at Metroid Dread for Switch and Metroid: Samus Returns on 3DS. The latter is a superb remake of Metroid II that somewhat went unnoticed since it was released in 2017, post the Switch’s debut. Dread and Samus Returns were crafted by MercurySteam.
- Metroid Prime Remastered (Switch) — $40
- Metroid Dread (Switch) — $54 (
$60) - Metroid Dread (Import) — $47 (
$60) - Metroid: Samus Returns (3DS) — $49
Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can access the first five Metroid games on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Metroid, Metroid II, and Super Metroid are included with the
Switch Online Individual subscription ($20/year). To access the Game Boy Advance titles—Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission—you will require the Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription ($50/year).
If you desire to enjoy all these Metroid games with a controller inspired by the series, PowerA has recently introduced an officially sanctioned wireless controller showcasing Samus Aran along with a cosmic backdrop. Additionally, you can acquire a set of wired Metroid-themed earbuds conveniently bundled in a drawstring bag adorned with Metroid art.
