Thunderbolts* is already leaving its impression on the MCU – and perhaps in more ways than initially anticipated. Marvel enthusiasts have come to realize that the film’s environment might mean its occurrences could also involve other characters within the franchise, including Spider-Man.

If you’re still reading, you’re aware that the film concludes with Lewis Pullman’s Sentry transforming into his sinister counterpart, the Void, after Val’s aide Mel activates his termination protocol. The Void possesses the capability to reduce anyone in his vicinity to dust, casting them into a shadow realm where they must relive the most humiliating moments of their existence. As the Void gradually engulfs block after block in New York City, some viewers have deduced that this could affect other NYC-based characters in the MCU.
“I discovered something after seeing the movie,” one fan shared on Reddit. “Spider-Man undoubtedly got ensnared in the void… And he likely found himself in a scenario where he had to witness Aunt May being struck by Willem Dafoe on a flying death sled repeatedly.” They are, of course, referring to May’s demise at the hands of Green Goblin in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
“Daredevil and others are also in New York, right?” another fan emphasized. “I wonder if Matt could ‘see’ in the void since it’s somewhat unreal, or if his senses remained unchanged, but if they were the same, they possibly wouldn’t function normally because nothing there was genuine… My mind hurts contemplating it.”
“Well, Matt wasn’t born blind, so I believe he could still perceive various things. And his heightened senses enable him to ‘see’ in a unique manner,” another chimed in. “I imagine he had an immense amount to, let’s say, experience while in the void. Not enjoyable at all.”
“I was also pondering how the majority of the Daredevil characters were likely struggling in the void,” remarked another fan, while others hope this dilemma will be addressed in forthcoming Marvel projects.
