The officially sanctioned Lego strategy board game Monkey Palace is currently available for just $24 (previously $40) at Amazon. This offer comes just two days prior to the retailer’s Prime Day 2025 event commencing July 8. Amazon is providing this discount to match Target’s deal from its Circle Week sale, which just commenced July 6 and features a variety of fantastic Lego set promotions.

Monkey Palace is an enjoyable strategy game that transforms the action of connecting Lego bricks into a rapid and diverse strategic game for 2-4 players. Developed by Bezzerwizzer in partnership with Lego, Monkey Palace debuted last October and continues to frequently retail for its complete $40 MSRP at most sellers.

What occurs when a monkey discovers an ancient palace within the jungle but opts to redecorate their new residence? The entire place crumbles, naturally, so now you and up to three additional players must reconstruct the structure from the ground up.

To assist the monkey in thriving once again, humans take turns placing Lego pieces to create makeshift stairways. Each piece holds a specific number of Monkey Credits, which are traded for Monkey Cards. The Monkey Card selected determines which brick type(s) you utilize to construct and adorn the stairways. As you build, you accumulate Banana Points, which are totaled at the conclusion of the game to decide the victor. Games typically last around 45 minutes.

Monkey Palace includes 231 bricks and several game boards, each presenting unique challenges and enhancing replay value. There are numerous distinct ways to construct your palace, so although there are guidelines to adhere to, it is a relatively open-ended game that can be approached from various perspectives.

The title is intended for individuals aged 10 and above; however, younger enthusiasts with prior Lego assembly experience can also participate in the fun. My four-year-old consistently constructs and alters Lego Super Mario sets, and he finds Monkey Palace enjoyable. While we occasionally need to assist him with the strategy elements, that hasn’t prevented Monkey Palace from turning into one of his preferred board games.

Monkey Palace is certainly not the initial officially licensed Lego board game, but it remains the sole one currently available. Previous Lego board games often command high prices on resale platforms, making it prudent to integrate Monkey Palace into your gaming collection sooner rather than later, particularly as it is being offered at such a low price.
