Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers an expansive journey through the landscapes of Bohemia. However, there exists one individual who has ventured to more exotic and remote locations. Now, he seeks your skills after being wrongfully accused of a crime. This is our guide to The Lion’s Den to assist you in saving Musa in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Please note that this article contains spoilers.
How to save Musa in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – The Lion’s Den quest guide
The Lion’s Den is a major quest that occurs during the second act of the game, set in the Kuttenberg area. There are multiple objectives to tackle here, including investigating a murder and subsequent trial, along with a side mission that enhances your romantic relationship with another character. At a certain point, you may be given a deadline to complete all of your tasks.
Section 1A: How to enter Sigismund’s Camp
The Lion’s Den quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 takes place after the events of Exodus. The first step involves speaking with Jan Zizka at the inn, where he informs you that it’s necessary to infiltrate Sigismund’s Camp. We recommend completing The Devil’s Pack before reaching this point, as the mercenary group members you might have recruited will be at the gathering as well.
First, head to Sigismund’s Camp, located directly northeast of Suchdol. Additionally, ensure to mark the fast travel point in the scorched village of Opatowitz to the north.
Then, at the camp entrance, bribe the guard with 500 Groschen so you can enter. Turn left from the entrance to reach the baths and have a chat with Katherine.
Section 1B: The Stalker side quest and Katherine romance
Katherine will inform you about your next task, but she requests that you wait until nightfall. Pass the time and talk to her to trigger a cutscene, where you may also receive flirtatious replies. She then reveals that a stalker has been watching her, which initiates The Stalker side quest:
- You can complete The Stalker side quest before finishing The Lion’s Den. Moreover, the stalker watching Katherine must not see you.
- There are several ways to deal with this pesky individual. During our playthrough, we commanded our dog companion Mutt to sniff Katherine’s shoe. Mutt then followed the scent, leading us to the tent of a soldier named Chakan.
- You may either attempt dialogue checks (i.e., Persuasion or Presence), offer a bribe, or physically confront this troublemaker.
Once finished, return to Katherine and inform her that the stalker should no longer be a concern. Your assistance here grants you a significant reputation boost, which is beneficial if you wish to romance Katherine later in the game.
Section 2A: Meeting Musa and healing Myshek
The primary objective here is to speak with Stephen Crow so you can join Sigismund’s army. You will then be introduced to the commander, Ditrich Katz. Katz needs you to locate a missing document that was supposed to be delivered by his soldiers, one of whom is currently being treated by a foreign doctor.
So, who exactly is this Musa that you need to save in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? Well, he is a skilled healer and scholar who has traveled the world, from Iberia to the Holy Land and everywhere in between. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Musa is now serving King Sigismund. Meanwhile, the soldier he is treating, Myshek, appears to be in poor condition.
This is a crucial task, but you can diagnose Myshek to learn about his state. You will then need to provide him with 1x Sturdy Cockerel. You will not find any of these potions nearby, so you must brew one yourself. We discuss the basic steps in our Alchemy guide, but here’s the summary:
- Ingredients: Spirits
- Grind 2x Mint using a mortar and pestle, then place it in the cauldron.
- Boil for one cycle.
- Add 1x Valerian.
- Boil for 2 cycles.
- Take the phial and interact with the quiet.
Note: Successfully completing the brewing task is not merely about using dried herbs. You may need to utilize fresh Mint and Valerian herbs if you desire a better chance of creating Sturdy Cockerel.
Section 2B: The missing constitution
As soon as you manage to provide Sturdy Cockerel to Myshek, you will awaken him from his slumber, and he will reveal the exact location of his team. If you offer him common or weak Cockerel, he will perish, and you won’t be able to gather any further information from him.
Regardless, it is essential to head to the mill in Aged Lhota, which actually has its own quick travel point. It is located just northwest of Maleshov, a place you explored as part of Taking French Leave.
Upon arrival, a soldier will approach you. You can attempt a persuasion check: Persuasion – “Myshek told me about it (Lie).” This allows you to search the mill without any trouble. Alternatively, you can confront them all.
Whichever choice you make, enter the main building and ascend the ladder. The chest located here contains the Lost Constitution for the King Sigismund quest item.
Section 3A: The murder inquiry
Return to Sigismund’s Camp to proceed with the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 The Lion’s Den quest. The moment you talk to Katz, a cutscene will begin, followed by the news that an old soldier named Chertan has been killed.
Follow the trail of blood that leads you to a trough worth investigating. Next, enter the medical tent to observe the chaos. It seems that Musa has been accused of Chertan’s murder.
Note: At this stage, you have only two in-game days to gather all the clues and complete Musa’s trial. If two days pass, one of Sigismund’s lawmen will arrive, and the trial will proceed regardless of your progress.
Section 3B: Musa under surveillance
Your primary goal now is to speak with Musa, who is being kept under guard in a tent adjacent to the Alchemy bench. The guard here patrols the area. If he spots you, you can choose one of the following responses:
- Domination: “Katz sent me.”
- Scholarship: “I’m Musa’s assistant.”
- Drinking: “Shouldn’t we go for a beer?”
- Domination: “Get away from here; it’s not safe!”
If you fail any of these skill checks, the guard will become annoyed. Thus, it’s wiser to wait for him to turn his back, then quietly crouch-walk towards Musa. He will then advise you to examine the body and obtain his Book of Poison.
Part 3C: The Book of Poison – How to identify which poison was utilized
If you aim to save Musa in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it is crucial to identify the concoction that poisoned the victim. Inspect the victim’s body for any distinguishing signs. Next, open the nearby chest and retrieve The Book of Poison. Reviewing it will teach you about the various types of brews, along with their symptoms and ingredients.
