You encounter various quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. However, there are a few that, once completed, result in other missions becoming unavailable. Similarly, there are situations that prevent you from progressing, as such distractions could lead you to total failure. Here’s our guide to assist you with the points of no return in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Please note that this article includes significant spoilers.
What are the points of no return in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
A point of no return is viewed as a critical turning point in a game, one where you have no choice but to move forward until you reach an ending. During particularly important moments, you are also cautioned about upcoming events. It is advisable to keep a save point handy by using your Savior Schnapps, in case you want to review different objectives first.
Here are what we categorize as points of no return:
- Main – When you reach a significant point of no return in the campaign, you will see a notification that warns you before you proceed further. Doing so (a) causes some side quests to end prematurely, and (b) “railroads” you through several missions. This means it is essential to continue forward to tackle multiple quests in succession.
- Minor – Certain quests will either have a hidden timer or a location-wide restriction where you are not allowed to exit until you complete the primary objective.
Minor point of no return: Wedding Crashers
A minor point of no return in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is Wedding Crashers, which may be the first real crucial quest in the campaign due to the numerous requirements and side objectives you can undertake. When you join the wedding festivities in Semine, it is critical to disrupt the whole event.
Not only that, but this also leads to For Whom the Bell Tolls, a mission filled with tension and excitement because of the actions you must take to save a fellow. You may also find that you are unable to move quickly for a while while you complete these tasks.
Main point of no return: For Victory
The main point of no return during the game’s first act happens during a quest called For Victory. After navigating a challenging situation with soldiers, you must report back to Von Bergow. An objective then appears, instructing you to speak with Hans Capon at night, followed by a warning notification.
Before you speak with Hans, ensure you finish the Demons of Trosky side quest, as it automatically fails if you proceed with For Victory. If you choose to go ahead, you must complete three significant quests in order, culminating in Storm. Additionally, don’t forget to romance Klara during this time.
Minor point of no return: The King’s Gambit
The King’s Gambit represents a minor point of no return during the second act of the campaign. You receive this quest immediately after Taking French Leave.
The objective in The King’s Gambit is to disguise yourself as a waiter so that you can attend a council meeting scheduled to happen in a few days in-game. Since the council will gather with or without you, it’s imperative that you proceed with the most critical goal as quickly as you can. Failing to do so will definitely lead to a game over.
Main point of no return: Oratores
There is another major point of no return in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which occurs during the Oratores crucial quest. Here’s a concise summary:
- Your mission is to reach Ruthard Fortress through the underground tunnel system. This also gives you a chance to romance Rosa.
- After dealing with the enemies in the fortress, it is necessary to locate a key and check the crypts.
- Finally, you need to capture a character attempting to escape on horseback. Prior to this stage, ensure that you’ve acquired a horse mount equipped with gear pieces/armor that improve speed. Otherwise, you may not be able to catch up with your target.
- A warning notification will appear once you approach Ruthard Fortress.
Continuing past this point results in several side quests failing automatically. These include The Thunderstone, The White Roebuck, Lost Honor, and Bellatores. Note that, as of this writing, we cannot confirm if other missions such as The Fifth Commandment and The Devil’s Pack also fail, as we had already completed them earlier.
