Kevin Feige has disclosed that Avengers: Doomsday is currently in production, while Thunderbolts actress Florence Pugh hints that she has already participated in the Marvel crossover.
“We officially commence on [April 28],” stated Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige during a Thunderbolts* press event attended by GamesRadar+ and various press members.
“Officially?” responded Pugh, who portrays Yelena in Thunderbolts. Feige then clarified, “That was a pre-photography day that you completed.”
“I consider myself fortunate,” Pugh remarked in return.
Pugh’s unawareness that filming hadn’t begun yet should not come as a shock to those following the news from the Doomsday’s chair reveal onward.
The confidentiality surrounding Avengers: Doomsday is so pronounced that some actors involved in the Marvel Phase 6 lineup haven’t received a script yet.
“I suspected I would be part of it, but I was unaware of who else was included,” said David Harbour, who reprises his role as Red Guardian in Thunderbolts*, told GamesRadar+. “I don’t possess a story, script, or anything similar.”
Featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom alongside numerous original Avengers, X-Men veterans, Thunderbolts*, and Fantastic Four members, Avengers: Doomsday marks the first of a one-two sequence that concludes the MCU’s Multiverse Saga.
Feige has emphasized that additional cast members will be part of the project alongside those already announced – with figures like Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk generating much speculation after withdrawing from events this summer due to ‘scheduling conflicts’.
