Famitsu has released the newest boxed rankings for Japan, and this week we have several fresh entrants to stir up the top ten.

Leading the pack is Silent Hill f for the PS5, which kicks off robustly with 57,475 units sold. Close behind is Mario Kart World, contributing an additional 35,027 to its ongoing tally. In fact, the recently launched Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds struggled to keep pace with Nintendo’s kart title, landing at number 9 with 5,571 units sold.

It’s crucial to understand that Sonic’s appeal in Japan does not quite match that of Western audiences, and it’s equally plausible that individuals are merely biding their time for the Switch 2 edition, which is set to debut later this year.

In other news, Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian also makes its initial appearance, with the Switch version outpacing the PS5 version by selling 10,425 copies during its launch week.
