Japanese Charts: Little Nightmares III Makes A Respectable Debut
Famitsu has released the most recent boxed rankings from Japan and, as appears to be the trend currently, there are a few fresh entries to pay attention to this week.
Kicking off is Little Nightmares III, which arrives at positions 5, 7, and 8 for the Switch, PS5, and Switch 2 respectively. The combined sales total 31,770, positioning the game just behind Mario Kart World at 37,502. A solid opening for the sequel, despite some average reviews.
In other news, Battlefield 6 makes its debut at number 3 with 23,292 units sold on PS5. This title has received positive feedback for its multiplayer, though the single-player mode is generally seen as somewhat lacking in comparison.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 is also sustaining commendable sales, contributing another 20,083 to its cumulative total. To be honest, we can’t wait to see how everything unfolds next week when sales data for Pokémon Legends: Z-A are incorporated – we believe Little Nightmares III probably won’t be around for too long, that’s certain.
Here’s the complete breakdown of the top ten for this week:
The Switch 2 has again led the hardware rankings with an additional 46,942 units sold, while all three versions of the original Switch combine for a total of 23,149. On the other hand, the combined figures for the PS5 amount to 14,800, resulting in a notable lead for Nintendo’s previous-generation hardware.
We expect Switch 2 sales to soar next week with the arrival of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but it will be intriguing to observe if original Switch sales also experience a surge. We believe there will be a substantial increase for all.
