Invincible has just recently reentered our realm with its third season (after scoring an impressive Rotten Tomatoes rating, one might say). However, according to the individual behind the show’s most notorious mustaches, production on the next chapter has already commenced.

J.K. Simmons, who voices the troubled Viltrumite Nolan Grayson, also known as Omni-Man, revealed to Collider that work on season 4 of Invincible is already in its preliminary phase. “Yeah, we’ve definitely started to explore the next season,” Simmons admitted. “And I’m excited to… I can’t say when it will be, but I am eager to return to the studio soon.”

Those unfamiliar might wonder how much Simmons’ stoic yet villainous character will be involved in the upcoming season of Invincible, considering his current situation of being imprisoned in a Viltrumite facility in season 3 of Invincible. Since season 2, he has been left to reflect on his past actions alongside Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen), creating more captivating television that Simmons admits he has thoroughly enjoyed portraying.

“Well, I hope it’s unexpected. I’m always reluctant to approach any spoilers, but I loved the entire season, all of season three, and exploring the dynamic between Omni-Man and Allen the Alien—it has been a delightful surprise to me based on the first two seasons.” The two are unexpectedly turning into a buddy duo that some fans might not have foreseen, yet it appears that Simmons is relishing the recording experience. “And getting to perform alongside Seth Rogen was a blast, even though we were never in the studio together at the same time; I had the chance to react to what Seth had already recorded multiple times.”

You can witness how this charming duo continues to evolve as Invincible airs on Thursdays on Prime Video. Additionally, to get a glimpse of what’s ahead, check out what transpired
