Oblivion Remastered has quickly become the third highest-selling title of 2025, even considering only its initial week of release.
This information comes from Circana gaming analyst Mat Piscatella (thanks, PC Gamer), based on sales revenue from the game’s launch.
“In just one week since its release (w/e 4.26), Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered holds the position of the 3rd best-selling title of 2025 in the US ($ revenue), ranking just behind Monster Hunter: Wilds and Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” Piscatella noted on Bluesky.
Predictably, it ranked as the best-selling game for that week, though that might not come as a shock given the popularity of fast-selling JRPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launching the same week.
In a subsequent Bluesky post, Piscatella mentioned that Oblivion Remastered “claimed the top position on Steam US” for total active users within the week ending April 26. It secured second place in that category on Steam Canada, while placing fourth on Xbox and fifteenth on PlayStation.
Of course, if we were discussing Elder Scrolls 6, these figures would be so trivial that I likely wouldn’t have bothered to write about them. Naturally, the new Elder Scrolls title would be among the year’s best-sellers, I would assume.
However, this title was released in 2006. The fact that a streamlined, though well-crafted, remaster is suddenly soaring to one of the top-selling games of the year is indeed a testament to the enduring appeal of the Elder Scrolls franchise.
