Several individuals have managed to acquire the PS5 edition of Battlefield 6 ahead of schedule and reported that the complete game is available on the disc.

In a period dominated by game-key cards and cases like Doom: The Dark Ages being delivered on a disc with only 85mb, game preservation is facing challenges. While we still see a considerable number of complete releases on discs, it is increasingly typical for physical copies to be almost ineffective without internet access – effectively acting as code-in-a-box deliveries with a few added steps.

However, this does not appear to be true for Battlefield 6. Reddit user grecea_vlad shared that they got their copy of the forthcoming shooter, responding to some inquiries from community members. One user inquires if the game can be played without internet connection or any downloads. The poster affirms that yes, the game is on the disc and is playable offline, with a 68gb installation included.

Moreover, (as observed by Eurogamer) grecea_vlad also mentions that the servers are active at the moment, so those fortunate enough to have accessed the game early can get a jump on leveling up online. Naturally, there will likely be a day-one patch for the game upon release – as has become routine these days – and if you’re not online, you won’t have anything to engage with outside of the campaign. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the Xbox disk mirrors this trend, and we can at least enjoy the campaign for years ahead.

Battlefield 6 lead tempts fate, asserting that servers “should be” primed for launch following various betas on PC and consoles.
