IDGA-F strengthens commitment to DEI with new chair appointment
Shannon Loftis brings expertise to “advance the objectives of diversity, equity, and inclusion for developers worldwide.”
The International Game Developers Association Foundation (IGDA-F) has appointed Shannon Loftis as the new chair of its board of directors.
Loftis takes over from Ed Fries, who is stepping down from his director role after two years but will continue to serve on the board.
Loftis offers “more than 30 years in game development and a dedication to inclusion” at Microsoft, which will “enable the Foundation to advance its objectives of diversity, equity, and inclusion for developers across the globe.”
“I am thrilled and privileged to lead this board and to collaborate closely with the foundation and the IGDA,” Loftis expressed.
“The IGDA Foundation is one of the essential inclusive, intersectional, globally-focused, and impactful organizations in game development, and I believe our mission is more vital today than ever before.”
“I have had the pleasure of working with Shannon since our tenure at Microsoft; she is an exceptional leader whose background and experience in the industry make her ideally suited for the role of Chair,” remarked Ed Fries, former chair. “I am confident that the IGDA Foundation will remain true to its values.”
