How to Alter Room Upgrades in Blue Prince – Room Upgrade Reroll Guide
The process of altering or rerolling room upgrades was initially introduced to us by Discord user Lokyndra. It entails acquiring pricey items from the Showroom and then trading them via the Trading Post.
Ensure You Collect All Upgrade Disks First
Before you opt to change room upgrades in Blue Prince, you may want to collect all Upgrade Disks first:
- The game features 16 Upgrade Disks. When inserted into a terminal, each disk randomly selects a room, allowing you to choose a perk/effect.
- The disk obtained from the Trading Post, when placed in a terminal, draws from a selection of upgraded rooms.
- If luck is on your side, it might choose a room with an enhancement you’d like to reroll.
What Items Do You Need from the Showroom?
The most expensive items in the game are found in the Showroom, a shop-type/yellow room. Ideally, you’ll want to acquire either the Emerald Bracelet (costs 60 gold) or the Master Key (costs 80 gold).
Note: If you cannot find a Trading Post outside, try locating a Coat Check inside the mansion. This allows you to store one of your valuable items for future use.
How to Acquire Upgrade Disks from the Trading Post?
The Trading Post is one of the outer room options. It allows you to trade various items for other benefits. Occasionally, there’s an opportunity that your Emerald Bracelet and/or Master Key may be exchanged for an Upgrade Disk.
Once you secure your Upgrade Disk from the Trading Post, you can then change room upgrades in Blue Prince. All you need is to bring it to any terminal and hope it selects a room you wish to reroll.
Why Consider Rerolling Your Room Upgrades?
You might be wondering why you should modify your room upgrades in the first place. Here are several compelling reasons:
- You wish to select the best upgrade – For example, the Electric Eel Aquarium functions similarly to a pre-activated Boiler Room.
- You no longer find a certain upgrade useful – If you’re aiming for the Billiards/Darts trophy, it’s wiser to utilize the Speakeasy perk early on since it simplifies all operations to basic addition. However, as the Break Room upgrade grants a free Keycard if you conclude the day in that room, it may prove more beneficial in subsequent runs.
- You aim to efficiently gather resources – If you intend to switch to the Nurse’s Station boon for the Nursery, you can exploit a method that yields significant amounts of gold/allowance and stars.
Ultimately, it’s your choice whether you want to adjust your room perks. This ensures that the manor areas provide you the advantages needed for that perfect run.
