Final Destination Bloodlines is garnering enthusiastic early responses, with this forthcoming horror sequel being described as “heart-wrenching,” “ingenious,” and filled with “insane, diabolical” deaths.

As the sixth entry in the series, the latest film centers on Stefanie (Kaitlyn Santa Juana), a university student haunted by persistent nightmares of a high-rise collapse from the 1960s. Soon, she learns that her grandmother experienced similar horrifying visions, and actually managed to save several individuals by alerting them about the tragic event before it occurred. Consequently, Stefanie heads back to her hometown to uncover more about her own visions – and to locate the individual who can rescue her family from a seemingly grim destiny.

“[Final Destination Bloodlines] is a gore-filled thrill! An entertaining, terrifying nightmare machine of joyous bloodshed. Ingenious Rube Goldberg-style death traps deftly blend suspense, dark humor, and blood-soaked mayhem. Easily a favorite in the franchise,” wrote Variety and The AV Club’s Courtney Howard.

“I believe [Final Destination Bloodlines] is the finest FD film since 2! It’s a wonderfully bloody orchestration of horror; Zach Lipovsky & Adam B. Stein absolutely nail the atmosphere, & the kills are outrageous & merciless,” remarked Slash Film’s Bill Bria. “It’s also a genuinely moving tribute to Tony Todd. Don’t miss it!”

Novastream’s Nick L’Barrow added: “[Final Destination Bloodlines] is gruesome, wicked, and fun. The self-awareness and madness of confronting Death lead to engaging character interactions, but most importantly – gory executions. This is perfect for horror fans who appreciate a laugh or two.”

“Wow! [Final Destination Bloodlines] was an absolute thrill! It’s a gloriously bloody enjoyment filled with exceptional deaths and gut-wrenching moments. An outstanding addition to the series that should be watched with friends. Also a touching tribute to the late Tony Todd,” enthused That Hashtag Show’s Junior Fett.

#finaldestinationbloodlines is an enjoyable and lively new addition to the series, a mix of incredibly inventive deaths and gore complemented by dark humor, numerous Easter eggs, and a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Tony Todd.April 30, 2025

#FinalDestinationBloodlines is precisely what I hoped for in a revival of the franchise! It’s true to its predecessors while offering something refreshing. It’s wildly entertaining, hilarious, and includes one of my favorite kills in the series 👀 A definite must-see with an audience 👏🏼 pic.twitter.com/D7lFU204frApril 30, 2025

Just left #finaldestinationbloodlines I’m too drained to articulate, but: arrive for the crushed and splattered bodies, remain for the brutally honest reminder that death awaits us all- and that obsessing over it robs you of precious timeApril 30, 2025

25 years post the original, #finaldestinationbloodlines elevates the franchise to new heights! Unfortunately, the movie accomplishes a remarkable job making you care for the entire family 😭 R.I.P?? Critics have also highlighted the film’s opening scene, stating that there’s a particular death that may become a fan favorite in the franchise. As critic Edward Douglas expressed: “I’m usually not one for exaggeration, and perhaps it was the 14-year gap since the last sequel, but I feel [Final Destination Bloodlines] is the best of the lot! The initial catastrophe was outrageous, and there’s one death that might be the most agonizing horror kill I’ve witnessed… perhaps ever? Absolutely loved it!”

“In this film, the first premonition unfolds in 1969,” Lipovsky revealed to SFX Magazine. “Numerous deaths occur during the premonition, as is customary in a Final Destination film’s opening, but we then shift perspective to a different individual in the present day. That’s a fresh twist. I believe this will catch many fans off guard, making them lean in to decode what’s transpiring.”

Helmed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, Final Destination Bloodlines features Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Gabrielle Rose, and the late Tony Todd. The film premieres in UK cinemas on May 14, followed by its release in US theaters on May 16.
