Plucking the Cherries

Behold the awaited arrival! Microsoft has today revealed that Hollow Knight: Silksong (yes, that very Hollow Knight: Silksong) will grace Gamescom 2025 with a fresh, hands-on build.
In a freshly posted Xbox Wire update, the firm confirmed that Silksong will join the Xbox pavilion for the entire show (20–24 August). Attendees can sample the demo on both Windows PC and the forthcoming ROG Xbox Ally X, the brand’s new venture into portable gaming territory.
As for what the slice of gameplay will actually contain—your guess rivals ours. Remember that a Silksong trial first surfaced way back at E3 2019; we’d wager the beast has swollen considerably since.

Does this herald an imminent release date at last? Ehhh, possibly? We’ve retired the clown makeup by this stage, but seeing the game playable at such a massive event could signal that the end is in sight—maybe even during the Opening Night Live stream?
Who can say. What we can confirm is that select fortunate souls will play Silksong come August, and we are definitely, positively, 100 % not jealous in the slightest. Nope. Not us…
Are you among the lucky attendees who’ll experience the demo at Gamescom 2025? Dash to the comments and share your fortune.
