Hitman: Absolution Shoots Onto Switch 1 Next Week
Switch 2 iteration remains under wraps
- by Jim Norman
The last time we heard about Hitman: Absolution was back in July, when developer Feral Interactive revealed it would be releasing its newest remake on Switch sometime in 2025, with a Switch 2 variant to come afterward. There has been a lack of updates regarding Switch 2, but today, we’ve received information about the Switch 1 version, which is set to be released next week.
Indeed, you interpreted that correctly. Hitman: Absolution will debut on Switch 1 on 13th November for £19.99 / $29.99 / €24.99. The fresh trailer (above) displays the 2012 stealth title in action on Nintendo’s hybrid system, and it appears, well, just as we recall it. But hey, having more Hitman is always a good thing!
Similar to Feral’s recent mobile launch, Absolution on Switch will receive a ‘Contracts Mode’ update in the upcoming year, allowing players to create challenges against friends and vie for top scores.
Here’s a summary of the game’s primary features along with a selection of images from Feral Interactive:
MORE THAN A NUMBER
The narrative of Absolution focuses on Agent 47’s persona, where his loyalty and ethics are challenged.
DESIGNED FOR NINTENDO SWITCH
With gyro aiming for ultimate accuracy, Absolution is entirely optimized for Nintendo Switch, suited for play at home or on the move.
DEADLY INSTINCT
Utilize Instinct Mode to pinpoint targets, anticipate enemy actions, and draw attention to key areas.
CLEAR YOUR PATH
Point Shooting allows you to freeze time, mark various enemies, and eliminate them instantaneously.
PERFECT YOUR SKILLS
Discover new tactics to dispatch your targets, complete Challenges, and refine your approach.
REPLAY VALUE
Select from 5 distinct difficulty levels, ranging from easy to the brutally challenging Purist mode.
“But what about the Switch 2 edition?” you might, understandably, inquire. Well, we still have no clarity on that. Feral mentioned on Twitter that they will “share more about the Switch 2 next year,” urging fans to “stay tuned for additional announcements.” So, we suppose we’ll do just that!
As a reminder, IO Interactive released Hitman World of Assassination on Switch 2 earlier this year; however, numerous performance issues meant it was not in optimal condition at launch. A following patch improved the situation, but let’s hope Feral Interactive can deliver a stronger version of Absolution right from the start.
