In August, Nintendo introduced a new ‘My Mario’ initiative in Japan aimed at parents and their kids. This featured an interactive application named Hello, Mario! for the Switch and smart gadgets.

While this application differs slightly from Nintendo’s standard offerings, it appears to be receiving a comparable level of post-launch assistance – with the company today initiating Version 1.0.2. Below is an approximate translation of the official update notes from Nintendo’s site:

Hello, Mario! – Ver. 1.0.2 (18th November 2025)

General

  • A warning message for parents has been included on the screen appearing after launching the software.
  • In TV mode or tabletop mode, the HOME button, among others, can be managed without detaching the controller.

It’s significant to mention that this application is currently exclusive to Japan’s eShop, yet if you possess access to a Japanese Nintendo account, you can still download it on your device and test it right away. Below is the official description, and we previously provided some feedback at the time of its launch.

“A complimentary smart device application and Nintendo Switch software that children can engage with intuitively by tugging Mario’s face, or spinning it on the screen. Mario will respond in various manners based on the player’s actions, enabling parents and young ones to interact and enjoy every reaction they observe.”

This upgrade to the Hello, Mario! application comes after the announcement of a corresponding Hello, Yoshi! app earlier this month (which is currently available), alongside a new line of products for families. The ‘My Mario’ series of toys is set to be launched outside Japan early next year.

Along with this app update today, Nintendo has also unveiled episode four of its My Mario Stop-Motion series. You can watch it in action below:
