As we approach the concluding three months of 2025, Nintendo and associates are preparing a lineup of prominent titles for the festive season.

The Switch 2 iteration of Borderlands 4 might have been postponed, yet Pokémon Legends: Z-A arrives in mid-October, succeeded by Hyrule Warriors and Kirby Air Riders in November – and we wouldn’t be astonished if a surprise release or two slipped in. Elden Ring has to premiere at some point, right?

Below, we’ve spotlighted the most thrilling Switch 2 (and 1) titles arriving in the forthcoming two months – the ones officially announced as of this writing. You’ll uncover more excellent games beneath our top selections, along with a variety of Switch (2) accessories.

New Switch 1 & 2 Titles for October & November 2025

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 – 2nd October (Switch)

Starting off the month with a duo of champions, we have been eagerly anticipating the chance to play the second installment on Switch.

Journey across the stars with Mario in enhanced versions of these cherished adventures—arriving soon on the Nintendo Switch system! Also accessible with a free update for Nintendo Switch 2.

Yooka-Replaylee – 9th October (Switch 2)

Polishing up 2017’s Yooka-Laylee with some next-gen refinement, Playtonic aims to unleash the true essence of the original by expanding and refining the realms with new puzzles, new mini-games, and an innovative way to experience this tribute to the nostalgically valued collectathon platformers from the ’90s.

New remixed challenges alongside beloved classics await as you set out to explore the expansive, gorgeous open worlds alongside the charming duo Yooka (the green one) and Laylee (the purple one) once again, all while accompanied by a splendid orchestral score. Did we mention there’s a map now? A shiny new currency? And a plethora of customization choices? The beloved buddy duo has never looked, sounded, or moved better!

If any game here requires no introduction, it’s the forthcoming Pokémon. So let’s not dawdle.

Keep in mind, there are versions for both Switch 1 and Switch 2!

Welcome to Lumiose City, where adept Trainers engage in the Z-A Royale, a competition where you’ll progress via unique new Pokémon battles that take place in real-time and can include Mega Evolutions!

Persona 3 Reload – 23rd October (Switch 2 – Game-Key Card)

Heads-up: this is a Game-Key Card, so continue only if that’s your preference.

This remake premiered on alternative consoles last year, but it’s arriving on Switch 2 shortly, and we’re quite thrilled to be able to experience it on the go.

Step into the Dark Hour where the boundary between the mundane and the supernatural fades. Dive into a narrative of existence and demise with all-new scenes, character engagements, and extra voiceover.
During daylight, engage in various pursuits from exploring Port Island to nurturing genuine connections with unforgettable characters as you mold your path with each interaction.

Then, when nightfall arrives and the Dark Hour begins, fight your way through the enigmatic tower of Tartarus and vanquish otherworldly Shadows. Immerse yourself in a realm brought to life with cutting-edge visuals, a sleek interface, quality-of-life enhancements, and a memorable soundtrack.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake – 30th October (Switch 1 & 2)

We’ve experienced DQ3, and now we’re retracing steps, with 1 & 2 receiving the HD-2D makeover just before Halloween.

Important note: The Switch 2 iteration is a Game-Key Card.

DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake is a breathtaking reimagining of the initial two legendary quests in the Erdrick trilogy, merged into one collection. (Players can opt to play either DRAGON QUEST I or II at any time by choosing their preferred title on the game’s start menu.)

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment – 6th November (Switch 2)

This Tears of the Kingdom-themed Musou from Koei Tecmo brings Zelda and her Hyrule allies back in a canonical narrative that revolves around defeating numerous hordes of Ganon’s minions.

We relished Age of Calamity on Switch 1 and we’re keen to observe how this installment capitalizes on Switch 2’s enhanced capabilities – especially with the local GameShare feature this time around.

Battle alongside new and familiar champions to protect Hyrule from the Demon King.

Princess Zelda is not alone in this conflict! Join Mineru, the Sages, and even some fresh heroes in skirmishes against Ganondorf’s forces. Merge powerful Zonai Devices with your heroes’ distinctive abilities to take down formidable bosses and their armies of minions.

Kirby Air Riders – 20th November (Switch 2)

Kirby makes a comeback in this sequel to the 2003 GameCube racer Kirby Air Ride. We’ve had a dedicated Direct which delved into (perhaps excessively?) detail on this title, and another is scheduled before launch.

Select your rider, choose your vehicle, and gear up for competition! Challenge your opponents in frantic arena skirmishes or speedy races on both ground and in the sky. Utilize the Boost Charge button to decelerate and manage your turns as your vehicle automatically seeks maximum speed. Fill your Boost Charge Gauge as you slide around bends and release it to initiate a thrilling dash!

Hades 2 – 20th November (Switch 1 & 2)

This title launched digitally in September, but if you’ve been able to resist it thus far, the physical edition for Switch 2 (also compatible with Switch 1) arrives on the same day as Kirby. Check out our review below for a complete overview.

Additional Upcoming Titles for October & November 2025

Alongside the selections above, a wealth of additional Switch 1 & 2 retail games will release over the next couple of months.
