
GAME won’t have in-store Switch 2 pre-orders
GAME will not provide Switch 2 pre-orders physically in stores, as reported by Eurogamer.
The once-renowned brand, typically a familiar sight on the high street, will instead receive a “limited allocation” of consoles available for pre-order through the company’s website. This information comes from the chain’s internal communication to staff, which was reviewed by Eurogamer.
After numerous reductions and changes to GAME’s offerings in the past couple of years by owner Frasers Group, the brand now primarily functions as a concession stand in various shops like Sports Direct.
In other news concerning GAME, employees informed Eurogamer about a recent internal reorganization by Frasers Group. The decision has been made to close GAME’s headquarters and primary warehouse in Basingstoke, where the brand has operated for over twenty years, and further job losses are anticipated.
