“Primed for commerce”
The encouraging announcement that Street Fighter 6 would be releasing its own series of amiibo was somewhat overshadowed by the less favorable news regarding a price hike; however, Nintendo can at least justify this increase on one point: these figures are larger than those previously released.
Luke, Kimberly, and Jamie have each obtained their own amiibo, and we’ve successfully acquired the cover star himself.
As illustrated in the images below, Luke stands significantly taller than Ryu, Ken, and Terry and feels much more substantial and solid.
It’s not merely his size that represents an upgrade from other amiibo; much like his fellow Street Fighter 6 characters, Luke unlocks exclusive items in the game, including distinct musical tracks, wallpapers, and backgrounds (the latter of which can be utilized with the in-game camera feature).
Does this imply that Luke and his companions merit the additional expense? We’ll allow you to make that judgment, but these larger figures do provide the possibility for more intricate details.
