Earlier today, Nintendo unveiled its most recent quarterly financial report for FY2025, and the results were… significant, as one might expect. Indeed, the Switch has surpassed the impressive milestone of 150 million units sold, but Nintendo also adjusted its sales predictions for the second consecutive quarter as interest continues to wane.
One might speculate that the decline in Switch sales is a natural outcome of the growing anticipation for the Switch 2 — we are officially aware that the console is set to release this year, after all — yet, as Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa indicated to investors immediately after the report was released, you can’t place all the blame on hardware excitement (thanks, Eurogamer).
