Vincent previously made a heartbreaking cameo in Peacock’s buzzy mystery Poker Face, starring as an innocent schoolboy who—after being framed by a classmate—unintentionally kills the class hamster in one of the show’s most gut-punching twists.
The notion of Jason still being a child shouldn’t shock anyone; Crystal Lake rewinds to the events predating the 1980 original, where Jason’s mother, Pamela Voorhees (now embodied by Linda Cardellini), embarks on a blood-soaked revenge spree against negligent camp counselors after losing her son at Camp Crystal Lake.
That means we probably won’t witness pint-sized Jason morph into the machete-wielding, teen-hunting powerhouse for many episodes—if ever—though the streaming series may ultimately pave the road for a fresh cinematic reboot.
