By Taking action against piracy
This week, a prominent Switch ROM website referred to as ‘nsw2u’ was confiscated by the FBI as part of a ‘law enforcement initiative’.
Additionally, we have received an official announcement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, detailing the other sites that were seized. Here is the complete statement (via the official FBI site):
FBI Atlanta Captures Major Video Game Piracy Websites
The FBI’s Atlanta Field Office declared today the confiscation of several online illicit markets distributing pirated copies of popular video games.
Alongside the confiscation, the FBI has dismantled the framework of these websites.
For over four years, these websites offered pirated versions of highly awaited video games days or weeks prior to their official launch date.
Between February 28, 2025, and May 28, 2025, data shows a total of 3.2 million downloads took place on these platforms from the most popular download service. These actions have resulted in an estimated loss of $170 million.
As part of the actions announced today, the FBI has secured approval to confiscate the domain of several sites, including nsw2u.com, nswdl.com, game-2u.com, bigngame.com, ps4pkg.com, ps4pkg.net, and mgnetu.com. These domains facilitated access to the pirated video games. Those visiting these sites will now see a seizure banner indicating that the domain has been taken by federal authorities.
