
“Fairgame$: Sony’s Anticipated Live-Service Shooter Pushed Back to 2024”
Fairgame$ – the heist shooting game from Jade Raymond’s new studio, Haven – is reported to have been postponed.
While we still lack substantial information regarding the live-service title besides the fact that it was anticipated for release later this year and is being developed for PC and PlayStation 5, Jeff Grubb from Wide Bomb disclosed during the Game Mess Decides podcast that the launch has been delayed until 2026.
Grubb did not offer any reasons as to why the project has likely fallen behind schedule, but he noted it would not be happening “this year”.
“No Fairgame$ this year,” Grubb stated, “As far as I know, Fairgame$ has been pushed to 2026.”
Back in February 2022, Sony declared it planned to launch over 10 new live service games in the coming years. A month later, then-Sony executive Jim Ryan expressed his belief that live service games would play a pivotal role in the future of gaming, confident in PlayStation’s move toward live services.
However, since then, the company has been retracting from this vision, with several proposed projects being canceled, including two just last month, speculated to be one from Days Gone developer Bend and another from Bluepoint.
Despite being in development for eight years, Sony’s 5v5 sci-fi shooter Concord was taken offline just two weeks after its PC and PS5 release last year, following a disappointing launch and poor sales.
Many other live service titles have also been scrapped by Sony, including a co-operative game from London Studio, with the studio closing entirely last year. In 2023, Naughty Dog canceled its standalone multiplayer game set in The Last of Us universe, and a live service Twisted Metal project at Firesprite was also terminated, alongside a co-op
