Exciting New Game Announcements: Lovecraftian Mysteries and a Vampire Adventure Unveiled!
When dealing with Lovecraft, the publisher Nacon is likely hoping you’ll also pay attention to the two Lovecraft-themed titles it has planned for its 2025 lineup – one of which is an “exciting investigative journey” from the team behind The Council and Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong.
Kicking off with the first, titled Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, players will take on the role of Noah, an agent from a clandestine Interpol unit dedicated to occult investigations. Noah finds himself probing the bizarre vanishing of miners deep beneath the Pacific Ocean – a mission that ultimately leads to the intricate prison of R’lyeh, where Cthulhu is held captive.
The gameplay combines investigation and first-person psychological thriller elements, requiring players to solve “intricate puzzles”, make choices that will determine Noah’s destiny, and resist the sanity-deteriorating influence of Cthulhu. If this intrigues you, Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, developed by Gigantic Tainted Wolf Studio, will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S next year.
This brings us to the second of Nacon’s newly unveiled Lovecraft games, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu. Created by Zeno Clash studio ACE Crew, this is a first-person horror game, incorporating online co-op gameplay for up to four players, which, as the title indicates, draws from Lovecraft’s novella The Mound.
In this game, players assume the role of a team of conquistadors.
