Frontier’s inaugural Unlocked livestream for 2025 has revealed to Planet Coaster 2 players what they can anticipate when Updates 3 and 4 are released over the coming months.

Update 3, anticipated to go live on March 20th, introduces a completely new tutorial and Act 1 Career levels in Sandbox Mode, random rotation and scaling for scenery items, the reintroduction of the Vector Inverting Suspended coaster from the original Planet Coaster game, enhanced employee and guest behaviors, and “a plethora of flume enhancements.”

That is not all, however – Update 3 also features the “highly-requested” comeback of the Western theme.

Regarding Update 4? Frontier is still being elusive, but so far it has been announced that players will be able to construct their own establishments where they will need to “meet various guest needs and preferences,” along with additions from the Frontier Workshop such as a Featured Creators list, alerts, and a What’s Trending list, plus career maps in Sandbox mode in Act 2.

We can also expect stock coasters (part 3), an yet-to-be-revealed additional ride, as well as “franchise mode updates” and “continuous stability and performance improvements.” Look for more significant features as we approach April.

The theme park simulation sequel received its first major free update back in December, alongside its initial paid DLC, while February introduced new features like personalized video billboards, custom speakers, synchronized coasters, and interchangeable coaster vehicles.

“Planet Coaster 2’s versatile creation tools remain as addictive as ever, though the experience is hindered by a cumbersome UI that lacks inspiration.”
