“Epic Crossover: Ocarina of Time Meets Halo in a Unique New Mod”

It is indeed me, John Zelda

Since its release on PC, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been showered with some impressive mods. Now we have also witnessed TOTK features such as Ultrahand and Fuse making their way to the classic N64 title, alongside elements from other Nintendo franchises like F-Zero and Pikmin appearing in Hyrule. However, this mod introduces a brand-new twist reminiscent of Halo (credit to Gaming Reinvented).

Yes, if the headline didn’t make it clear, modder notCHase‘s latest creation brings Halo to Hyrule, and the outcome is quite amusing.

The Master Chief himself doesn’t make an appearance, but many of his weapons do. Fed up with Child Link’s tiny Kokiri Sword? Now you can swap it for Master Chief’s Energy Sword and slice through enemies with great heights. And what about that troublesome Bombchu? You can now equip ol’ Dodongo with some serious explosive power using military-grade grenades.

Furthermore, if, after all that fighting, you think jumping back onto Epona might be a tad much for Link, the mod includes the iconic Warthog vehicle complete with a mounted turret. We have to admit, we genuinely laughed at the sight of Princess Zelda being Ultrahand-ed into the vehicle before taking down Gohma with a swift pew pew.

While it may not be the conventional way to experience the game, it certainly is amusing to see Link going all commando in the land of Hyrule. Honestly, we had a strong feeling that Halo would eventually go multi-platform, but this was unexpected.

What do you think of Link’s new, shooty style of combat? Share your thoughts in the comments.
