End of the Line: A Provider’s Downfall

MultiVersus is set to conclude with its fifth season.
In a message to players, the MultiVersus team confirmed that Season 5 will commence on 4th February and conclude on 30th May 2025, while the game will remain accessible offline “for the foreseeable future”.
“Season 5 will function as the final update for MultiVersus. Once the season comes to a close, players will still be able to enjoy the game offline,” the announcement stated.

As of today, 31st January, players will no longer be able to earn any in-game currency, Gleamium, but you can still utilize what currency you have amassed until the season concludes.
The free-to-play title will also be removed from the Myth Games Store, Steam, as well as the PlayStation and Microsoft stores in May, although the new characters for Season 5, DC’s Aquaman and Looney Tunes’ Lola Bunny, will still be “earnable through gameplay”.
Players who have deleted or uninstalled the game prior to the end of Season 5 will still be able to reinstall it after 30th May.
“We want to express our gratitude to every player and individual who has engaged with or supported MultiVersus,” the team expressed.
“Everyone at Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games has invested our heart and soul into this project. We will always be thankful for the incredible support from the MultiVersus community throughout this journey.”
This announcement comes after the news that Warner Bros. Games chief David Haddad is departing the company after 12 years, following the lackluster performance of fellow live-service attempt Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the setbacks with Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.
