When all else is unsuccessful, resolve it with flames. This is my overall philosophy for managing my taxes and Embark’s quick remedy for the locked door exploit in Arc Raiders while the developers work on eliminating the bug permanently.
A rapid fix surfaced from the studio just this morning, and really emphasizing its ‘hot’ status, the response is to merely ignite anyone attempting to exploit the glitch. Figuratively and in-game, naturally – no one is engaging in arson here.
Locked rooms now transform you into a fireball if you glitch inside from r/ArcRaiders
A disheartening view; truly pitiful. Yet also amusing and effective. This is undeniably a preventative measure, and it should deliver more than a few hearty laughs as players witness how Embark addresses challenges it can’t swiftly resolve. The Reddit video genuinely amused me, and it’s being well-received within the community.
“THIS is how you tackle problems you can’t quickly resolve because you need to inscribe a pentagram and chant for 40 hours to make the game engine function properly,” remarks one Reddit user. “That’s the spirit, baby!” adds another.
Given that players initially desired bans for exploiters, knowing that all they earn for their efforts is a slow, agonizing demise should suffice. Whatever is causing the issue will likely be rectified soon, but I believe the developers should maintain this as it is or integrate it into the solution in some manner. Regardless, it offers some great amusement.
