Do you recall when we anticipated Elden Ring Nightreign‘s DLC would be released by the end of March 2026? Well, the developer From Software indicated that is excessively long and revealed that the next extension of the roguelike/souls-like, The Forsaken Hollows, will be available on consoles and PC starting December 4. Happy festivities, you Nightfarers.

The Japanese developer announced this during PlayStation’s State of Play livestream on November 11. The trailer, which was posted on publisher Bandai Namco’s official X account, is brief. However, it showcases two new playable characters, a fresh Shifting Earth event, and several new foes.

In our conflict against the Night, every skirmish left a mark.
These injuries were inflicted with intent. A vile existence, originating from cast-off souls.
Fortify your determination, Nightfarers. This hunt must conclude.#ELDENRING #NIGHTREIGN The Forsaken Hollows will launch on December 4, 2025. pic.twitter.com/q7WB94urfh

After its unveiling, From Software marketing representative Miku Watanabe went to the PlayStation Blog to elaborate on The Forsaken Hollows further.

The two upcoming Nightfarers are the tome-wielding Scholar who “acquires exceptional benefits through battlefield observation” and the cloaked Undertaker who “delivers foes to the afterlife with brutal effectiveness.” Watanabe did not elaborate on the new adversaries, instead simply hinting that they are “tormenting Limveld.” Additionally, the new Shifting Earth event, The Great Hollow, will create a “vast void in the depths of Limveld” that contains unique ruins and temples, sacred towers, and crystals radiating life-draining miasma. Ouch.

The Forsaken Hollows will be priced at $15 individually if you already possess Elden Ring Nightreign. However, if you own the $55 Deluxe Edition or the $200 Collector’s Edition of the game, you will gain access to The Forsaken Hollows right upon its release. Be cautious, though: Watanabe cautioned that the Deluxe Upgrade Pack will be rebranded as The Forsaken Hollows DLC on November 12, indicating potential for duplicate purchases.

From Software’s parent company, Kadokawa, had disclosed in a recent earnings statement that Elden Ring’s Nightreign DLC was “scheduled for launch in FY2025.” Since both entities are Japanese, and fiscal years vary slightly in Japan, the initial assumption was that the game’s expansion would arrive by the end of March 2026. Well, we stand corrected.

Elden Ring Nightreign is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Again, the game’s DLC, The Forsaken Hollows, will be released on December 4—precisely in time for Christmas.
