Donkey Kong Bananza’s First DLC In-Game Event Kicks Off Next Week

Nintendo has revealed that the inaugural in-game occasion for the Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC will commence next week.

The ‘Chip Fever’ occasion (translated from Nintendo’s Japanese site via Google, so the title might differ in Western regions) is set to begin on Tuesday 28th October and will remain until 4th November.

As the name implies, ‘Chip Fever’ will deliver a Chip-centered variation on the typical Emerald Rush setup. Participants in this event will be required to gather as much Ore as possible utilizing only Chip-centric Perks — such as Chip Hoarder or Chip Negotiator.

If you achieve a high score during this event, you’ll be able to acquire two new figures for DK Island: Kong Bananza and Enguard. These figures may not be the most beneficial additions in themselves, but they will certainly enhance the aesthetics of a complete collection.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Donkey Kong Bananza DLC upon its arrival on Switch 2 last month. The Emerald Rush roguelike mode is quite entertaining, and revisiting DK Island brought many smiles, but the overall experience felt slightly lacking otherwise.
