Nintendo has unveiled a day one update for Donkey Kong Bananza, elevating the game to Version 1.1.0 and adding some anticipated, yet appreciated enhancements (thanks, Nintendo Everything).
The update should download automatically when you acquire your game, but if you’re uncertain, you can manually verify for any updates by pressing ‘+’ on the game icon. If you’re not on Version 1.1.0, just select ‘Software Update’ and proceed from there.

Donkey Kong Bananza – Ver. 1.1.0 (Released 16th July, 2025)
- You can now choose “GameShare with nearby individuals” or “GameShare via GameChat” from the “Play with two players” option in the pause menu.
- Multiple problems have been addressed to enhance the gameplay experience.
That’s your lot! As we mention, it’s fairly standard improvements, yet any enhancements to the gameplay experience is a positive in our perspective.
Donkey Kong Bananza debuts on 17th July and has garnered widespread acclaim. Our own 9/10 review described it as “an incredible re-introduction to the world of 3D platforming for DK”, while other media were equally enthusiastic.
