Are you thrilled? Because we are thrilled! Indeed, it’s getting extremely close to the comeback of everyone’s beloved video game ape, and to commemorate, Nintendo has shared a brief film on its social media (and to its Nintendo Today app, of course) to remind us all that there are exactly three days remaining until the debut of Donkey Kong Bananza.

Fantastic! We hope DK manages to recover from that rather devastating hit in time for our exploits later this week, though.

Naturally, for a game that hadn’t particularly sparked our enthusiasm leading up to the launch of the Switch 2, Bananza has swiftly become one of our most-anticipated titles of the year over the past month or so.

The game’s fantastic Direct certainly did much to stimulate our cravings, showcasing the intricate layered world and thrilling traversal mechanics at its core, and discovering that the Super Mario Odyssey team is behind this one has now got us fully onboard.

It appears that physical editions of the game have made their way into players’ hands already, but the rest of us don’t have too long to wait until the launch on Thursday. How many days was it again? Be sure to check out our preview of the game, too, which is sounding quite positive thus far.

In other news within the DK universe, the game’s director has recognized some performance issues, and a copyright filing suggests the ape may be receiving his own movie.
