Diablo 4 is collaborating with the iconic anime Berserk for a crossover event.

At this time, we lack many specific details about what precisely will be included in the Diablo 4 x Berserk crossover, but Blizzard has released a cinematic teaser trailer on its official Twitter account, and the partnership appears to be quite exciting so far.

In the 30-second anime-style teaser, we observe a Diablo Barbarian wielding his weapon against a swarm of demons, slashing at the pesky creatures with his enormous two-handed sword. He releases a powerful roar at the end before we see the official Diablo x Berserk logo. Exciting times ahead.

Upon further examination of the details within the trailer, it appears that the Berserk collaboration will feature “optional in-game purchases” along with “random items,” which sounds remarkably like loot boxes.

However, before you start smashing your keyboard, the details also refer to Diablo Immortal in addition to iOS and Google Play, which strongly suggests that the mobile game might also be involved in the Berserk crossover. If that’s the case, it’s possible that loot boxes will only be introduced to Diablo Immortal while Diablo 4’s themed content may be limited to standard, clear microtransactions.

It remains uncertain when exactly the crossover event will take place, but with season 8 approaching sometime after season 7 concludes on April 29, there’s a good possibility that it could be part of that.

Blizzard has recently outlined the complete Diablo 4 roadmap for 2025, featuring teasers for seasons 9 and 10, and it has reaffirmed that a new expansion is still on track for 2026. Additionally, it hinted at a few “new IP collaborations,” so expect more excitement to follow after Berserk.
