Note: This text contains spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again episode 5.

Daredevil may have found himself entangled in a failed bank heist during the fifth episode of Daredevil: Born Again, but it truly was an update surrounding another key hero that might have set the stage for a significant collaboration in Avengers: Doomsday.

In the first part of this week’s double header on Disney Plus, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock arrives at a bank and promptly enters a meeting with Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapur). If he looks slightly familiar, it’s because he is: the clerk is the father of Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel.

While Yusuf is understandably excited about his daughter, there’s a passing remark (just before he reveals the Funko Pop) that might raise some eyebrows.

Even though he doesn’t share much beyond stating that Kamala is away in California, Ms. Marvel’s trip out west could hint at key developments concerning her character and, importantly, who she is associating with in the lead-up to Avengers: Doomsday.

Comic enthusiasts will recall that while many of Marvel’s formidable crimefighters hang out in New York, the Big Apple isn’t the only hotspot for heroes. Over in California, it’s the West Coast Avengers who make their home. Over the years, their lineup has been reshuffled, and a recent change in Marvel’s comics saw Kate Bishop taking charge of the team.

As luck would have it, Kamala has encountered Kate in the MCU during The Marvels post-credit scene.

In that scene, Ms. Marvel mentions she’s “forming a team” and wants Kate included. Therefore, it’s not far-fetched to suggest that this new group—whether they go by West Coast Avengers, New Avengers, Young Avengers, or some other name entirely—might have relocated to sunny California.

So, does everything lead to Avengers: Doomsday? The next Avengers film is slated for 2026 and, interestingly, leaked concept art (which has been debunked by the Russos) shows Kamala and Kate in a new team alongside Wong, Star-Lord, Billy and Tommy, and Cassie Lang.

While we may be a while away from seeing these heroes gathered in one place, Kamala—and Daredevil: Born Again—might have quietly left some hints about a brand new Avengers squad. Even The Man Without Fear could be taken aback by that revelation.
