The inaugural Child’s Play film premiered in 1988, centering on a serial murderer who eluded demise by executing a voodoo ceremony to shift his essence into the eponymous “Chucky” doll. Not wishing to remain confined within a toy form forever, Chucky devises a scheme to slay the family that acquired him and transfer his spirit into a young boy who realizes his malevolence. The movie became an unexpected success, leading to two additional sequels in 1990 and 1991, as Chucky persistently managed to return from the grave.

After a prolonged break, more Child’s Play installments began being produced frequently starting with 1998’s Bride of Chucky. This compilation includes a substantial array of supplementary content, exploring the development of the series, its societal influence, commentaries featuring the cast and crew, various featurettes, and a multitude of other extras.

It’s important to mention that this collection does not encompass the 2019 reboot, which incorporated several significant alterations to the original material. In this version, Chucky is a killer doll driven by AI–which someone clearly programmed to be malevolent–with a voice by Mark Hamill, featuring Aubrey Plaza as well. This film is available on Blu-ray, and you may acquire it in either standard or 4K formats.
