Civilization 7 update brings pirates and “powerful” Ocean Tiles, but developer Firaxis won’t say much more: “You’ll notice smaller, less frequent updates while the team shifts into testing”
As we progress further into autumn, Civilization 7 is venturing into the vast ocean with its notably maritime forthcoming update 1.3.0.
Developer Firaxis details in a somewhat ambiguous update check-in announcement – it acknowledges that fans have been anticipating more regular updates, or perhaps even a content timeline, but creative director Ed Beach states in the announcement that, “We’ve refrained from sharing excessive detail until we confirmed that the major updates we envisaged had a distinct path ahead and were adequately developed.” In any event, envision ships.
The delightful addition is the Tides of Power Content Collection, which will launch alongside update 1.3.0. Tides of Power will introduce the Tonga civilization and the Republic of Pirates – the latter of which is expected to land in December, along with “the mighty leader Sayyi.”
